Wiper Blade Importance
Oftentimes overlooked, your car’s windshield wiper blades play an integral role in keeping your drives around Chicago from coming to a halt. By clearing off your windshield from any rain, snow, or grime, they can ensure that your rides aren’t interrupted by storms. If they were to ever stop working, you would likely need to pull over if your vision was obstructed to either wait for the weather to turn or to clear the blockage manually. Warning Signs
Although designed to be unnoticed, your car’s windshield wiper blades will clearly show you when it's time to get a replacement. If you notice that they’re less effective when cleaning the front glass, or if they create streaks that make it harder to see, then that is a clear sign to get them replaced. They could also create an unpleasant scratching sound or if they jump and skitter across the glass, then that can mean the rubber blades have cracked, chipped, or eroded. The metal connectors can also rust, making for stiffer movement. To prevent this, it’s a good idea to activate these components every other week even if it’s not raining.
